DJ Paul Oakenfold set to launch his album on Cardano chain

The popularity of non-fungible tokens is now reaching the music industry. Celebrities are now getting into these blockchain-based tokens. NFTs include the tokenized versions of music, video, and images. We have seen the sale of multiple NFTs that congested the Ethereum network as well. Recently, DJ Paul Oakenfold announced his plans of releasing an entire album in the form of a token.

According to DJ Paul Oakenfold, the tokenized version of this album will be launched on the Cardano network. Cardano, formed by Ethereum’s co-founder, has been a strong competitor for Ethereum. There are debates on whether the Cardano network will overpower Ethereum to become the second-biggest cryptocurrency.

DJ Paul Oakenfold forms a part of ‘Starship Universe’

DJ Paul Oakenfold also announced that he plans to tokenize every bit of the entire album, however insignificant it might seem. This includes the album cover, remixes, notes, and even the music tracks themselves. This release was announced as a part of Starship Universe.

Starship Universe is an NFT project for the Cardano blockchain. This NFT project on the Cardano blockchain was a part of the Cardano Summit that took place on September 27th. Alon Shulman is the one managing the project currently. Alon is a music entrepreneur who is also the manager of DJs like Carl Cox.

Thousands of NFTs planned for release

There are thousands of NFTs planned for release under the Starship Universe. DJ Paul Oakenfold announced during the Cardano summit that he would release the new album, titled “Zombie Lobster.” The DJ has been operating since the 1980s and has won around 3 Grammy Awards.

The founder of Cardano has teamed up with the iconic DJ. In a statement, Charles Hoskinson said,

I’m excited to welcome Starship Universe as it lands on Cardano and we open up new frontiers together.

The release of the album is still not known.
