KEB Hana Bank partners with The Sandbox to offer banking services in the Metaverse

Animoca Brands’ metaverse The Sandbox has teamed up with KEB Hana Bank, a South Korean commercial bank that offers the largest range of foreign exchange products. With the new partnership, the two entities aim to “expand global metaverse business in the banking industry.”

According to an announcement made by the metaverse, KEB Hana Bank is planning to launch a new type of event marketing with the support of The Sandbox. The project includes building a “collaborative business model” like opening a virtual branch at the metaverse platform to offer basic banking services and supporting investments or coloration opportunities with The Sandbox’s other partners. The Sandbox Korea CEO Cindy Lee showed excitement about the partnership with the banking giant and stated:

“We’re excited to see KEB Hana Bank enter the metaverse to create new kinds of content. This will be the next frontier of easy-to-use metaverse banking service for users.”

Moreover, the announcement reveals that the banking giant will also be introduced in K-verse, a virtual space that contains all kinds of Korean content “to reach Gen Z meaningfully.” The Deputy President of KEB Hana Bank, So Jung Kim, commented on the new partnership by stating:

“The metaverse is the way people will experience Web3, and we want to be a part of this new trend. This partnership can open a door for a brand-new type of service, especially for the young generations.”

The Sandbox continues expansion

It seems like The Sandbox is unbothered by the ongoing crypto winter season and continues to expand its position with new partnerships and features in the metaverse. As TheCoinRise reported a few weeks back, the New York-based news magazine TIME also collaborated with the metaverse to create “TIME Square.”

A Twitter post from The Sandbox furthered its confirmation of its partnership with American men’s lifestyle and entertainment magazine Playbox.

Through their collaboration, the two companies hope to profit from the metaverse and NFT craze by building a Playboy MetaMansion in The Sandbox metaverse, including NFT collectibles.
