May Mayhem Town Star Tournament Returns with $2 Million in Rewards

Gala Games NFT farming game now free to play with no upfront costs and offers chances to win in 2nd annual event

(April 28, 2022) – Gala Games, the successful Web3 gaming platform, announced today details for the return of its May Mayhem Town Star tournament headlined with $2 million in rewards for its community – doubling last year’s wildly successful event. During the month of May, the flagship NFT farming game will be free to play with no upfront costs to give new users opportunities to explore and compete in the game and still qualify for chances to earn and win rewards. The first competition server begins on May 3, 2022, and will start every Tuesday ending on May 24, with each server session offering $500,000 USD in GALA tokens for up to 2,000 people. Gala Games also announced exciting changes to Town Star coming in 2022:

• Gems are coming soon, and they will be a game changer. Gems are not a cryptocurrency based on the blockchain, but rather an in-game currency exclusive to Town Star. They will eventually offer a variety of in-game benefits, many of which have never before been available, such as special server passes, in-game product purchases (Gasoline, Oak Wood, etc.), new in-game content and items, new storage buildings, removal of negative proximity effects (shade, pollution, etc.), enhanced speed of crops, workers, or production or worker prioritization (ability to tell them what to work on first).
• New reward distribution system is on the horizon as all TOWN rewards will transition to a point-based distribution system. Instead of a fixed TOWN reward value, each owned NFT will have a point value. Total TOWN reward distribution will decrease over time as a cap for TOWN is approached, causing TOWN to become increasingly scarce as time goes on. Players will have greater reward potential when they own a larger or rarer collection of Town Star NFTs.

Town Star is a strategic farming game of building, managing production and using ingredients to craft goods. Using limited space and initial resources, players must grow and expand their town, making the most of their AI workforces and crafting goods of higher and higher values. Unlike some other farming games that require the player to choose specific actions of units, your Town Star workers are a function of the building from which they emerge, always taking the quickest and most efficient route to accomplish their predetermined job.
