Ripple Labs Unveils Second Wave of Creators For its Fund

Enterprise blockchain and crypto solutions company Ripple Labs Inc has unveiled the second wave of creators who will receive its Creators’ Fund.

These chosen creators which cut across gaming, music, and sports, will receive funding for the development of Web3.0 and Non-fungible token (NFT) projects from the Ripple Creators’ Fund. 

All of the founders will leverage the XRP Ledger’s lower cost, instant settlement, and built-in royalty structures to animate use cases of tokenization in the entertainment and media sector. Eventually, as the fund targets functional use cases for gaming, music, media, and the metaverse, these projects will lead to unlocking and maximizing the potential of the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

“From a streaming music show in Japan to a marketplace for sports clubs to a daily podcast covering crypto news, these projects all leverage the XRPL’s inherent speed, cost, and sustainability advantages as well as its coming NFT capabilities like built-in royalty structures and co-ownership,” says another released statement by Ripple

Ripple Creators’ Fund which was initiated sometime in April is a $250 million capital investment set aside for innovative projects around tokenization, offering financing to projects that looks into the creation of functional NFTs on the XRPL. Most times, the focus industries of the fund are real estate, music (media), and carbon credits amongst many others. 

Ripple Labs Second Wave of Web3.0 Creators

Apart from the financial support which the Ripple Creators’ Fund provides for creators, it also offers creative and technical support. The chosen independent creators’ projects in the second wave involve seven different designs namely:

9LEVEL9 is a metaverse experience that provides a unique “front-row seat” to live and virtual concerts, productions, conferences, and award shows through NFT tickets. Anifie is an NFT marketplace for content creators and artists in Japan which enables fan engagement and provides a digital experience to NFT holders.

Next is Capital Block, a leading Web3 platform for sports clubs partnering with football clubs in Europe to launch an NFT membership. Cross-Metaverse Avatars is an avatar tool that allows creators to design and mint one-of-a-kind NFT avatars with multiple traits and colors. NFT Master is an NFT XRP marketplace that adds a video streaming platform for creators.

SYFR Projects is an IP production company that provides production, publishing, and management services to artists. Finally is Thinking Crypto, an NFT project that will allow holders to access exclusive interviews with top crypto leaders in the space.

Meanwhile, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple have asked for a summary judgment for the ongoing XRP lawsuit.
