Unreleased Record from David Bowie Released as Set of NFTs

According to the reports, a previously unheard version of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” has appeared as part of a limited edition set of nonfungible tokens (NFTs). 

As stated in a statement published on Thursday, Warner Chappell Music, Larry Dvoskin, and Gala Music have collaborated to release an unpublished edition of David Bowie’s 1983 song “Let’s Dance” as part of a limited edition collection of NFTs.

David Bowie, one of the most important performers of the 20th century, who died in 2016, had a large collection that included 128 singles, 4 soundtracks, 11 live albums, and 27 studio albums. 

The announcements stated that on April 14, 40 years to the day after the publication of “Let’s Dance,” Gala Music would distribute 3,003 NFTs, each with artwork created in Bowie’s honor.

These NFTs will grant holders access to a previously unreleased version of “Let’s Dance,” which Dvoskin and Bowie co-produced in 2002. In addition, the NFTs are set to be sold on a “pay-what-you-wish” basis, with the initial proceeds going to MusiCares, a charity that provides health and human assistance to people working in the music business.

Gala to Launch “Dreamy” NFTs

According to Dvoskin, the song is a “more dreamy, electronic” remake of the huge hit that continues to be among Bowie’s most well-known songs.
