Creator of The Goobers NFT Project, DNP3, Gambled Away Users’ Money

A twitch streamer ‘DNP3’, known for his PC and console giveaways and a range of cryptocurrency initiatives, including the charity-focused cryptocurrency CluCoin, the metaverse platform Gridcraft Network, and The Goobers NFT, admitted on Tuesday of misusing investors’ money. 

The founder took it to twitter and agreed that he had grown “incredibly addicted to gambling,” and showed regression by saying: “I’m sorry.”

The streamer accepts: “Every dollar I could find I would put into [crypto casino] Stake in hopes of winning big,” he added, 

“Even when the big wins did happen it wasn’t enough. Eventually, I lost everything. In addition to my own life savings, I also irresponsibly used investor funds to try and ‘get my money back’ from the casino which was wrong for so many reasons.” 

The amount of money lost by DNP3 is unknown.

He further states: 

“I am now completely broke both financially and spiritually. My sense of trust in myself is compromised.”

DNP3 said he has started to walk on a “path to recovery” with a counseling group. The tweet reads that the gambling “started with a sponsored stream and unleashed an addiction I never knew I had.”

DNP3 Regrets Misappro[riation of client funds 

DNP3 expressed regret to his family, friends, and investors at the end of his twitter post, acknowledging that he had lost their faith in him, let them down, and failed to uphold his standards of integrity.

Following the revelation, CluCoin’s price fell by 63%, while The Goobers project’s market valuation decreased by 9%. The Goobers sold 968 ETH in total, or about $1.1 million, according to OpenSea.

In 2022, there was a conflict in the Twitch community related to crypto gambling. Leading streamers like xQc and Trainwrecks prompted people to deposit large sums of money at online casinos like Stake in the hopes of hitting the million-dollar jackpot on the slots. In search of hitting a jackpot, streamers would bet thousands of dollars.
